The article 'Easy as one, two, three' In March's QW argued that the new notice period of just two days for Ofsted inspections of schools would give a shorter time frame for potential anxiety. Alas, I do not believe human vulnerability is so easily overcome. Those in the teaching profession who are unduly sensitive and conscientious will now feel a responsibility to be, by their own measure, fully prepared at all times and choose to live under a continuous pressure. It could be argued that such people are in the wrong job - but that would be to the loss of both the profession and my potential grandchildren.
