With the launch of the Chartered Quality Institute, the CQI decided it was important to have transparent processes to elect key members of the Council, the Board of Trustees and its subordinate boards. Previously, the processes that existed were not widely understood and to address this situation, the Board of Trustees established a nominating committee and approved new regulations to put in place a transparent and robust process. The nominating committee is made up of three members of the Board, including the vice-chairman, three members of the Council and two members of the CQI selected by the nominating committee itself. Together they have several responsibilities, the main two being nominating members to key positions and the associated succession planning.
