A graduate engineer. Donald Campbell served for more than 30 years in the Royal Air Force. The majority of this period was involved in aerosystems engineering management. However, he also served tours as an operational pilot, in operational requirements, as head of a large technical training school, in defence policy and operational staffs and as Director of Ground Training for the RAF.
