Under the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations adopted in March all businesses which handle over 50 tonnes of packaging a year and have a turnover of more than five million have a legal obligation to prove that a proportionate amount of packaging waste has been recovered and recycled.
