ISO 9001:2000 heading for impact with SMEs

For years the impact of ISO 9000 on the small business community has been the subject of debate. The take up of the standard by SMEs remains limited. Professor Tony Bendell and Dr Louise Boulter of the University of Leicester Management Centre and Paul Hannon of Leicestershire Centre for Enterprise, think that changes to ISO 9001:2000 could make the standard more accessible to SMEs.
