NewPage said Monday it will shut both paper machines indefinitely in about two to three weeks at its money-losing Port Hawkesbury, NS, pulp and paper mill.The largest coated papermaker by capacity in North America, NewPage said the decision was based on "a combination of factors, including unfavorable exchange rates between the US and Canadian dollars, and high utility and shipping costs, which have rendered its Port Hawkesbury mill operations unprofitable for more than a year."
