OCC exports down $10 in the last month and unclear going forward based on US, Chinese mill shifts, delays

Old corrugated container pricing to China continued a slow drip -- off about $10 in the last six weeks - stemming from less than strong US and Chinese board mill demand, contacts said this week. OCC delivered to a main port in China was about $264/tonne today, from $273 at the start of March, according to PPI Pulp & Paper Week. Over the last nine months, the US CFR price on OCC is on a record run, ranging from $230-280, averaging $246 in 2010 or nearly $100 more than the 2009 average, and averaging $267 year-to-date through April 2011.
