EU behind up to 39% duties on Chinese paper

European Union (EU) government representatives endorsed, in a preliminary vote, import tariffs of up to 39.1% for five years on coated fine paper originating in China. Thirteen member states backed the tariffs and three, including Sweden, were against, news agency reports said. The duties were proposed by the European Commission (EC), which began investigations last year into possible illegal subsidies and dumping of the Chinese products.
