China adds 10% more capacity shuts, including Chenming, Sun lines-PMs

The Chinese government now targets shutting by yearend about 8.2 million tonnes/yr of pulp and paper capacity that is old and outdated, expanding its capacity-closure list by 10%, PPI Asia reported this week.The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in May initially targeted closing 7.45 million tonnes/yr of capacity this year. The ministry listed the machines to be shut and the 599 companies that operate the units.
