Longview first to announce third containerboard price hike -- also raises kraft paper $60/ton for July

Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging on Friday became the first company to announce a third US containerboard price increase this year, setting one for July 1.The Longview, WA-based regional mill told its mainly West Coast customers today that it was raising prices on all containerboard grades by $60/ton ton effective with July shipments. The increase follows earlier price hikes this year on linerboard and corrugating medium of $50/ton ($70 on the West Coast) in January and $60/ton in April.
