Kraft paper 40-50/ton hike gains traction on sudden surge in orders

Even though July shipments were still down significantly from a year ago, the global kraft paper market has tightened surprisingly quickly and the current attempt by producers to raise prices has been gaining momentum.Almost every North American producer has announced 40-50/ton price increases to take effect anywhere from Aug. 17 to Oct. 1, with the latest announcement coming today from the second largest supplier.
