Wausau Paper to spend 15 million at Brokaw mill

Wausau Paper this week approved spending 15 million "to optimize" fiber handling and stock blending systems at its Brokaw, WI, uncoated freesheet (UFS) mill. An automated pulp bale handling system is expected to be operational by the end of this year with the balance of the system scheduled for startup in second quarter 2009. The Brokaw mill capacity is about 178,000 tons/yr of UFS on four machines.
