Major cupstock producers plan 50-75/ton increases; fourth hike in last 15 months

In what would be the fourth increase in the last 15 months, North American cupstock producers Georgia-Pacific (G-P), International Paper (IP), MeadWestvaco, and Rank Group this week separately announced that each would raise its solid bleached sulfate (SBS) cupstock grades by between 50-75/ton, depending on the coating, effective with shipments beginning either later next month or May 1. All cupstock grades (poly one-sided, poly two-sided, and uncoated) are to increase.
