U.S.and Canadian recovered paper exports ballooned last year to record highs on the back of ongoing surging demand from China and Asia as well as from an array of machine shutdowns in North America.U.S.exports rose 13% to 14.6 million tonnes-with China for the first time buying more than half of all U.S.recovered paper exports (53% and 7.7 million tonnes).China purchased 31% more U.S.recovered paper last year than in 2004 and an additional 1.8 million tonnes,according to U.S.Census Bureau and American Forest & Paper Assn.reports.
