North American lumber and panel prices fell to their lowest level in years,as producers have been slow to cut back production in the face of the sharp decline in the U.S.housing market.The third quarter is normally the most profitable of the year for producers,but major companies such as Weyerhaeuser and distributor BlueLinx warned of weaker results in wood products for the period.
