Georgia Pacific's Packaging Systems Optimization effort aims at finding ways for end box user customers to more efficiently-and sometime more cheaply-manage their packaging and supply chain systems.G-P has a team of company engineers and corrugated box experts that in three weeks can analyze an end box user's packaging system including box cost and design,fiber use,greenhouse gas emissions and energy use,and distribution expense.G-P looks closely at lighter boxes with less fiber,and source reduction rather than recycled content in box making,G-P sr.v.p.for sales and logistics Mike Adams told Pulp & Paper Week.
