G-P to shut four tissue PMs in large reshuffle;Wisconsin,Maine facilities are targeted

North America's largest tissue maker,Georgia-Pacific,said it would idle up to four tissue machines and shed a combined 140,000 tpy of capacity in a large reshuffling of its North American tissue operation.G-P also plans to shut 70 converting lines.The effort focuses on reducing operating costs and raising efficiencies,according to the company.
