China's ongoing capacity bulge in boxboard should impact global markets

While boxboard demand either stagnated or declined in the developed markets of North America, Western Europe, Japan, and Oceania, it grew in the rest of the world by 7% from 2001 to 2010, according to RI-SI's newly published report, the 2012 World Boxboard Study. Looking ahead, the the "regions that will experience the strongest growth" in demand are in Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America," RISI said in a release this week.
