RockTenn completes acquisition of Smurfit-Stone in more than $5 billion deal; integration challenge ahead

RockTenn (RKT) today completed the acquisition of Smurfit-Stone Container (SSCC), North America's second largest containerboard producer, after a large majority of shareholders of both companies approved the deal. RKT shareholders voted 99% for the deal and SSCC shareholders favored it by a 91% margin, RockTenn announced.
