C1S packaging, food service grade use grows within consumer staples

The world's four top growing specialty paper markets in the last two years were direct thermal, release base for pressure-sensitive labels, CIS packaging, and food service grades -- reflecting a firm affiliation with consumer and fast food, quick serve staples. Each grew global shipments by roughly 3-4% from mostly pre-recession 2008 through to 2010, according to AWA Alexander Watson Associates Sr Consultant and Stirling Consultants pres Bob Hamilton at a recent AWA conference in Chicago. Various other specialty paper shipments declined from 2008 to 2010.
