Two Canadian producers plan extensible sack hike; second one in six months

The global extensible sack kraft paper market has been tight, and last week a couple of major Canadian and European suppliers began to announce price increases for this spring. In North America, Premium 1 Papers informed customers of plans to raise unbleached kraft paper grades by $50/ton and bleached by $30/ton for Apr. 1. The company is the joint marketing arm of Canadian producers Tolko Industries and Canfor with mills in The Pas, MB, and Prince George, BC.
