POS prices fall; Appleton 1Q shipments rose by 9%

Pricing for point-of-sale (POS) thermal paper declined slightly the first half of this year, following more than 5-10% price declines on commodity coated and uncoated printing and writing papers in the USA. Based on estimates from several buyers and sellers, pricing for POS grade paper was down 3-4% since January compared with levels in first half 2008.
