May demand slows, eutsize drops by $10; trade case duties expected next week

Soft demand in May — with average daily shipments at their lowest level in six months -- and ongoing small discounting led to a $10/ton fall on 20-lb eutsize office/copy paper in the USA, contacts said. It was the second decline on the largest uncoated freesheet (UFS) paper grade this year. In January, 20-lb repro bond 92 brightness eutsize dropped $10. The top price for the grade was down to $1,015 ($50.75/ cwt) and the bottom of the range was $975 ($48.75/cwt), according to PPI Pulp & Paper Week's pricing.
