Investment firm buys Greif multiwall unit, and El Dorado plant

A private equity firm acquired the assets of Greif s multiwall packaging division as well as stock of El Dorado Paper Bag Manufacturing in the latest of a series of M&A deals in the North American multiwall sack converting sector. Industrial Opportunity Partners (IOP), based in Evanston, IL, said that the new combined company would be called El Dorado Packaging. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed. Greifs former division includes plants in Rosemount, MN, and Omaha, NE, that produce large format multiwall kraft paper industrial bags used mainly for agricultural and food products.
