US recovered paper exports on track to decline for 3rd straight year to China

In a dramatic turn, US exports to China are on track to decline this year for the thffd straight year, with the total this year an estimated 1 .67 million tons less than what Chinese mills purchased in the last peak in 2011, based on US Dept of Commerce, Bureau of Census figures. The 2011 total to China was 15.77 million tons. This year, the total is estimated at 14.1 million, based on government figures through September.
