Brazilian BEK producers set Oct. 1 global increases

Fibria, Celulose Nipo-Brasileira (CENI-BRA), Eldorado, and Suzano plan to lift bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp prices in key global markets, effective Oct. 1, contacts said this week. The hikes marked the first broad effort from BEK producers to increase worldwide prices this year, after a swath of new capacity entered the market at Latin American mills.
