J.D. Irving completes a $20 million upgrade at Lake Utopia medium mill

J.D. Irving said it completed a $20 million nine-day maintenance and modernization project at its Lake Utopia Paper semichemical corrugating medium mill in St. George, NB. The project included capital improvements to the mill and paper machine, the company said. Later this fall, additional investments are planned for the mill's environmental treatment systems. "This is part of our ongoing investment in the long-term future of the mill," said J.D. Irving mill mgr Dale Chaffey. "The jobs that we have here are very important to the local economy and the entire community."
