Label volume grew last year by 4.0-4.5% and should continue growing at a 4% CAGR through 2017, with the most growth expected in Asia Pacific and South America, Alexander Watson Associates (AWA) pres/ CEO Corey Reardon said at AWA's Mergers & Acquisitions Executive Forum in Chicago on Mar. 18. The CAGR in Asia-Pacific and South America through 2017 should be 6%, Reardon said. With the growth expected, he added that competition will continue heating up between different label formats including pressure sensitive material (PSM), glue applied, and shrink. He also noted that end users want more digital printing of labeling for fast runs.
