APP's imports cause a 16% increase in 2010

The emergence of two Asia Pulp & Paper-related (APP) subsidiaries in the USA was a key reason that US imports of finished tissue/sanitary products jumped by nearly 16% and a total of 103,000 tonnes in 2010 vs 2009, based on US government statistics. Imports of converted tissue products totaled more than 762,394 tons, up 15.7%, with 47% from Canada, 30% from China, and 14% from Mexico.
