Alabama River plan moving ahead, with conversion to fluff set for spring 2011

Next month, Parsons & Whittemore's (P&W) Alabama River Group (ARG) expects to complete the first of a two-phased conversion project to rolled fluff pulp out- put at the 500,000 tonnes/yr Claiborne mill in Perdue Hill. The second phase is to be completed during a shut next year — with fluff pulp to be ready for customers by second quarter 2011, Metso and ARG said.
