More cracks emerged in global pulp dynamics as US pulp spot market prices toppled $35-40/ tonne for the first time in 15 months just two weeks after rising to all-time highs, contacts told PPI Pulp & Paper Week. At least three producers competed aggressively in northern bleached hardwood kraft (NBHK) amid new capacity shipped to US buyers, and the possible re-entry of Terrace Bay Pulp appeared to spook softwood producers.
