North American pulp prices declined for the seventh consecutive month even as producers increased downtime to try to chop down an inventory overhang that market participants say are at historic levels.The effective list price for benchmark northern bleached softwood kraft(NBSK)dropped to 650/tonne,down 25/tonne after some producers yielded to pressure from buyers who are increasingly frustrated at the relatively slow pace of price erosion compared to offshore markets.Southern bleached softwood kraft(SBSK)declined to 620-630/tonne,down 20/tonne.
