Producers of northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp say that pricing momentum has continued ahead of a July 1, $30-40/tonne increase that started in Asia and North America and has since moved to Europe as key producers Botnia, Sodra, and Mercer Intl added hikes in the continent and domestic supplies tightened up. International chemical market pulp producer inventories declined one day-of-supply in May to close at 34 days of stock, according to the Pulp and Paper Products Council (PPPC).
