Graphic Packaging to close four plants by end of 1Q

Graphic Packaging(GPI)will close four carton plants over the next seven months as part of an ongoing restructuring effort to shave 90 million in costs by 2010.Carton factories will close in Greensboro,NC,and Richmond,VA,by the end of the year,and a plant in Smyrna,TN,goes down in the first quarter of next year.Also,by the end of the month,the company will close its Handschy ink and coatings sales office in Grand Rapids,MI,and its ink manufacturing plant in Indianapolis.
