Canfor's Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Ltd Partnership filed for bankruptcy protection in Canada to restructure its long-term debt.Officials said the filing for Howe Sound,which is comprised of a 400,000 tonnes/yr northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) market pulp operation and 220,000 tonnes/yr newsprint mill in Port Mellon,BC,would not impact production at the mill complex.
