Sun Paper-IP look to Laos for BHK pulp for fibering board output at Yanzhou

China's Sun Paper, which is in two coated paperboard joint ventures with International Paper (IP), plans a 197 million project for building a 300,000 tonnes/yr bleached hardwood kraft (BHK) pulp mill in Laos, PPI Asia said this week. The company plans to develop acacia and eucalyptus plantations for generating chips to feed the pulp mill. A Sun Paper official said the company expected government approval in China and Laos for the project by early 2009.
