摘要

The American Forest & Paper Assn's 2007 agenda focuses on lobbying Congress about climate change, helping US forest products be more competitive in global markets, and resisting threats to direct mail volumes, new association pres/CEO Juanita Duggan said last week at the AF&PA's Paper Week conference in New York.Duggan said lawmakers in Washington had started to dig into climate change, and were beginning to realize it involved more than vehicle emissions, growing more corn and switchgrass for ethanol, or creating a carbon limit for utilities. Instead, to accomplish what was being talked about would necessitate drafting the most significant and far-reaching legislation of any since the Clean Air Act, she said.
