Bid to save St Marys mill advances;receiver could report to court this week

An investor's group that wants to buy bankrupt St.Marys Paper and restart its 216,000 tonne/yr supercalendered (SCA) mill believes a court appointed receiver could approve its offer as early as this week.If so,the first of the Salte Ste Marie,ON,mill's three machines could make paper by mid-June,an official for the group said last week."We are very encouraged that we will get this deal done.The biggest hurdles are behind us," said Gord Acton,a local lawyer representing the group,last week.
