Enron files Ch. 11 bankruptcy; runs into paper market problems with supplies, trading

Enron Corp.'s filing for Ch. 11 bankruptcy protection on Dec. 2 threw a ripple through the pulp and paper industry in North America last week. Recovered paper suppliers said they cut off most if not all raw materials to the company's mills in the eastern U.S. and Canada, and that at least one of the mills was not running full. And there was at least one case of a U.S. daily newspaper company that ceased trading with Enron's on newsprint prices.
