Sofidel to acquire two converting plants, to spend $300 million on US growth

Sofidel America, which joined the wave of new companies entering or expanding from small positions in the US tissue market, is to acquire Green Bay Converting, and push forward expansion plans including a green-field project in Ohio by spending about $300 million in the next two years. Sofidel's greenfield project is set for Cir-cleville, OH, near Columbus. The company plans an "integrated mill" and converting at the Ohio plant, a representative for the company said this week.
