European unbleached kraft linerboard producers have been unable to increase prices in northern Europe during May, although prices increased Euro 20-30/tonne in March and April in Italy, contacts told PPT Europe. The increase was driven by US and other overseas export suppliers trying to offset the decline in the value of the Euro as well as gain from a pickup in Italian box demand. Italy and Spain are the two major European liner export markets for US and other overseas suppliers.
