Unbleached kraft paper shows signs of renewed growth with 6.8% 1H rise; plastic bag ban may be factor

After decades of decline and then a long period of stability, the North American kraft paper market is showing signs of growth. US unbleached kraft paper shipments jumped 6.8% in the first half of 2014 from a year ago, with the most strength in the kraft bag and sack segment, according to American Forest & Paper Assn statistics (AF&PA).
