Domtar to shut Dryden UFS PM;will run pulp only at mill

Domtar is adding to major uncoated freesheet(UFS)capacity closures this year with the permanent shutdown this month of its remaining paper machine at Dryden,ON,eliminating 151,000 tons/yr of output as the mill shifts to a market pulp-only operation.The company on Nov.4 said Dryden's PM 1 and related converting operations will cease by mid-November due to softening markets,and high costs for energy and woodfiber.
