North American producers seek 60/ton Sept.10 price hike on benchmark UFS offset rolls,increase is first since April 2006

Three of North America's biggest uncoated freesheet(UFS)producers,International Paper(IP),Domtar and Boise Cascade,last week announced price increases on commodity rolls,the first price increase on benchmark 50-lb offset rolls since April 2006.The companies are hiking 50-lb offset rolls and opaque paper by 60/ton,and sheets by 30/ton,effective with Sept 10 shipments for IP and Boise and Sept.17 for Domtar.
