South Korea's trade commission on Jan.23 said it was beginning an anti-dumping probe against linerboard made in the U.S.,Canada,and New Zealand.Preliminary reviews were done late last year after two South Korean firms,Asia Paper Mfg.and Kumho Papertec.filed a countervailing duty petition on Dec.1.The companies alleged that linerboard from the three countries was being dumped in South Korea.The commission is to make a determination by November.Through September last year,1.5% of total U.S.unbleached kraft linerboard exports or 33,300 tonnes were shipped to South Korea,according to a U.S.Dept.of Census and Commerce report.
