Newsprint prices slid for the ninth consecutive month in June,as declining consumption and the absence of significant capacity closures continued to increase the supply overhang in North America.A creeping accumulation of deeper discounting,and in some cases rebating,following the sudden collapse of fixed-price agreements in April accounted for this month's 15/tonne month-to-month drop.As a result,30-lb newsprint declined to 585/tonne on the US East and West Coasts,and 27.7-lb was 625/tonne,according to a Pulp & Paper Week survey.
