Two major away-from-home (AfH) tissue producers,Georgia-Pacific and Cascades,separately informed North American customers that they will increase prices,effective May 1,contacts told Pulp & Paper Week.Soaring costs for fiber such as kraft pulp and recovered paper are prompting this year's first price increases,as well as solid demand for tissue at a time when seasonal demand picks up.G-P plans an 8% price increase on its AfH tissue and toweling products,while Cascades has an increase of up to 9% depending on product.
