China's Sun Wave Forest Products paid C5 million last week in a move that brings the company much closer to possibly restarting the former Skeena Cellulose's Prince Rupert,B.C.,northern bleached softwood kraft pulp mill that has been shut since 2001.Contacts say the Chinese company must still spend roughly C80 million to C100 million to ready the mill for restart.The mill was shut when Skeena Cellulose filed for bankruptcy protection.
