More export linerboard is hitting the world market- buyers are testing prices

More U.S.kraft linerboard exports are hitting the world markets and other offshore mills,causing the first signs of pressure on prices since September 2005 in markets such as Latin America and southern Europe.U.S.linerboard production for export in September reached 268,000 tons,up 5.4% from a year ago and the highest level so far this year,according to American Forest and Paper Assn.statistics.Year-to-date,exports were down 1.4%.
