Domtar's New Westminster,B.C.,coated freesheet mill that is up for sale took a total of 73 days of market related downtime between Aug.1 and Jan.25 -and is generally running at 60% of capacity,according to the Communications,Energy and PaperWorkers Union of Canada.For the last five months of the year,there were an average of 13 days curtailment at the 143,000 tpy capacity mill with a peak of 22 days in December,according to the CEP Local 789 website.The site recorded seven days curtailment in the first 25 days of January.This represents an overall total of about 27,000 tons of curtailed production,according to a Pulp & Paper Week estimate.
